Additionally, he has worked across the country forecasting weather in Atlanta, Tampa, Denver, Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Rochester, Columbus, Grand Rapids, and Spokane. He has also appeared internationally on BBC World News, BBC News, and BBC Radio 5 Live. As a higher education professional, he works full-time as a Resource Analyst in the Office of Resource Planning at the University at Buffalo working with academic and academic support units on budget forecasting and planning. From 2016 to 2022, he worked as a Senior Academic Advisor, specializing in Prehealth Advising, in the Exploratory and Pre-Professional Advising Center. He advised hundreds of undergraduate students seeking admission to professional health schools and coordinated the semi-annual screening and evaluation process. During his 8-year teaching career, he served on the faculty at the University at Buffalo in the Department of English and School of Management, Medaille University, Southern New Hampshire University, Fredonia, and was an Associate Lecturer with the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. He has taught over 600 students during his time in the classroom, both online and in-person. He has taught 16 different classes including Sound Design, Podcasting, Public Speaking, Group Communication, and Social Media Strategy. He began studying the violin at the age of 4 with Greta Buck. Today, he is an active violinist in the Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania area by holding membership in 3 orchestral ensembles. He currently plays as a regular substitute violinist with the Erie Philharmonic, as a section violinist with the Clarence Summer Orchestra, and occasionally tours with Elton Rohn, the Elton John Tribute Band, in the United States as the lead of the string section. He has played with other groups including the Western New York Chamber Orchestra, the Southern Tier Symphony, Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, and was formerly a contract member of the, now defunct, Erie Chamber Orchestra. He has shared the stage with some of the world's most renowned classical musicians including Emmanuel Ax, George Li, Yo-Yo Ma, Marc-Andre Hamelin, and Midori. He is currently pursuing two additional master’s degrees in Human Resource Management and Business Analytics, from Stony Brook University and the University at Buffalo, respectively. He holds four master’s degrees from the University at Buffalo in Engineering Management, Business Administration, Music Performance, and Higher Education Administration. He earned his bachelor’s degrees from SUNY Fredonia in Music, Audio/Radio Production, and Journalism. He has also completed certificates from Mississippi State University and Washington University in St. Louis. He was nominated for a New York Emmy Award for Best Weekend Newscast in July 2024. He was named Buffalo Business First's 30 Under 30 Class of 2022 for his achievement and community involvement, an international finalist in the World's Challenge Challenge Competition in 2021, and was awarded the Lanford Presidential Prize from SUNY Fredonia and the Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence by the SUNY system, both in 2014. He also attended the Harvard Law School's Program on Negotiation in December 2023. In February 2024, he became a Certified Change Practitioner from Prosci, one of the most recognized organizations in change management. He also studied abroad in Singapore and Vietnam in January of 2024 through the School of Management at UB. He holds membership in various professional organizations including the American Meteorological Society, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society, the American Federation of Musicians, the Society for College and University Planning, the American Society of Engineering Management, the National Association of Asian American Professionals, the Asian American Journalists Association, and SAG-AFTRA. He has also delivered presentations and talks at the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society's Annual Meeting, the Broadcast Education Association's National Conference, the Northeast and Central Association for Advisors of the Health Professions, and the NACUBO Planning, Budgeting, and Analytics Forum. |
