AVP of Financial Operations and Controller, University of Rhode Island
An experienced Finance professional with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education, Angela Miller currently serves as the AVP of Financial Operations at URI. In this role she is has oversight of Financial Reporting, Research Administration, Payroll, Peoplesoft financials, the Ryan Center and Boss Arena, Property and Support Services and Student loans.Graduating from the University of Rhode Island with her BS in Accounting, she began her career in public accounting at Coopers Lybrand, went on to internal audit at Yale University. When her family circumstances took her to the Boston area, she began a 25-year career at Northeastern University where she also received her MBA degree. Collaboration and teamwork are core values for Angela. She recognizes that everyone plays an important role bringing unique skills and perspectives. Together the team can propel the university forward. She enjoys working to improve processes and recognizes the impact of technology. She is a motivational leader and encourages those around her to always be striving to improve themselves. When she is not a work, Angela enjoys playing tennis, taking long walks with her favorite four-legged companions, Rocky and Emmy, as well as spending time with her family and friends.
