Irving Bruckstein has been a higher education CIO and CISO for the past several years; with decades of experience in higher education and technology industry verticals. Irv has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science & mathematics, as well as a 2018 Master of Science degree with focus on cybersecurity from Hofstra Universities' DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. As chief information officer at Washington College, I am excited to be transforming Washington Colleges' Office of Information Technology into a technology center of excellence. Bruckstein believes that IT in higher education can be most impactful through trusted partnerships with faculty and academic leadership, as well as across all areas of the College. During Irv's tenure, Salve Regina University was named as one of the top higher education institutions for the handling of continued university operations during the Covid19 pandemic through the rapid deployment of innovative teaching and learning technologies. During Irv's tenure as CIO and CISO, Lehigh Carbon Community College was designated a Center of Academic Excellence in cybersecurity by the NSA and Department of Homeland Security achieved through a partnership with faculty. Irv has global expertise in leading delivery and operations of very large scale technology and business operational programs by employing innovation and fostering high performing teams that deliver technology centers of excellence.
