Associate Vice President, Budgets and Business Services Community College of Philadelphia
Derrick Sawyer II, a 2023-2024 NACUBO fellow serves as the associate vice president of budgets and business services at the Community College of Philadelphia. Sawyer is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the college's operating and capital budgets. He serves as the college's risk manager and is responsible for procuring appropriate insurance policies. Sawyer is also responsible for the college's auxiliary services (food service, parking, bookstore, and campus card operations). He works cross-functionally with various leaders across the college, including senior leadership team members, on planning, operations, and strategic initiatives. In addition to NACUBO, Sawyer is a member of multiple community and professional organizations, including the University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA), National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS), and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Sawyer also serves as a peer evaluator for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).
