Darren Lipscomb

Dr. Darren Lipscomb, Esq. is the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management at Community College of Philadelphia where he has served over the last three years. Dr. Lipscomb oversees admissions, financial aid, records and registration (registrar), student tuition services (bursar), veterans' services and the College's largest regional center. Prior to this role, Dr. Lipscomb served as the Director of Outreach, Recruitment, and Enrollment Services at Delaware County Community College. Dr. Lipscomb has fourteen years of experience in higher education. Outside of his primary work role, Dr. Lipscomb serves as co-chairman for Student Affairs Officer affinity group of the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges. He also previously served as chairman of the Commission's admissions affinity group. Dr. Lipscomb also currently serves on the board for Study PA, the study state consortium for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania where he works with colleagues at Colleges throughout Commonwealth to expand the pipeline of international students enrolling at Pennsylvania colleges and universities. He has previously served as the organization's chairman. Outside of higher education, the West Philadelphia native serves as a board member and past President for the Philadelphia Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He has also served as the Senior Vice President for Programming for the Philadelphia chapter of the nationally renowned Minds Matter college preparatory mentorship program and as past-Chairman for the Mayor's Commission on African American Males. Additionally, Dr. Lipscomb is a combat veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard where he served as an intelligence analyst for six years to include a mobilization for Hurricane Katrina relief in 2005 and a deployment to Iraq in 2009. Darren holds a doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Widener University and a Juris Doctor from Temple University's Beasley School of Law. He also holds a master's degree in Counselor Education and bachelor's degree in marketing from West Chester University.
